DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS
Scope of the Job:
This position, located in Allentown PA reports to the VP, Global Logistics,
in turn reporting to you are the Warehouse Manager, Distribution Manager
and Returns & Destructions Manager. You will be responsible for managing
and motivating approximately 50 employees at various levels within the Logistics
Department. The Director of Logistics performs day-to-day management of company
receiving, warehousing, order processing, distribution,
returns and destructions operations.
This includes supporting business development, meeting customer needs,
ensuring regulatory compliance, and monitoring and improving operational
performance. Your duties include:
1.)Directs activities of the Logistics groups
(Warehousing, Distribution, Returns & Destructions).
2.)Manages, motivates and develops employees and staff in the Logistics department.
3.)Develops and monitors Logistics performance metrics to identify trends and areas
for improvement.
4.)Conceives and oversees development and implementation of new systems,
processes and technologies to improve quality.
5.)Partners with the QA department to ensure that all logistics processes meet
cGMP requirements.
6.)Works with clients, Distribution Project Management, Client Services and Sales
to meet client project needs.
7.)Identifies opportunities to increase logistics revenue, meets with clients in a
business development capacity.
8.)Develops new processes to support new Logistics business.
9.)Manages the Logistics departmental budget.
Candidate Requirements:
1.)We seek a logistics professional with a minimum of five years
experience at the senior management level in a fast-paced logistics environment
and a recognized leadership role in motivating customer-focused teams.
2.)We seek a professional with a Bachelor's degree in a
logistics, business, engineering or related discipline.
MBA degree preferred.
3.)For the best fit, you must have excellent oral and written
communications skills including the ability to discuss scientific / technical
data and regulatory requirements with colleagues and the FDA.
